Lead Paint Removal- What You Need to Know
Posted by Stephen on September 5, 2024
If your house was built before 1978 it falls into a category that may require special procedures and precautions if it tests positive for lead paint. These layers/remnants of lead paint are often buried beneath several layers of latex paint. However, when a significant amount of scraping is needed, as with this house, it can disturb and release a significant concentration of lead particles. These particles are especially harmful to young/developing children. If you have a house like this, be sure to get a licensed painter who is certified for lead renovations. These “lead scrapers” are not our favorite jobs to prep, but the results are definitely the most satisfying!
